SHERPA MAPs
16/12/2021

On 14 December 2021, members of the SHERPA EU Multi-Actor Platform (MAP) met online to discuss the key points raised by MAPs working on the topic of ‘Climate change and environmental sustainability’.

In 2021, eight SHERPA Multi-Actor Platforms focused their work on the topic ‘Climate change and environmental sustainability’. They discussed challenges and opportunities related to this topic and indicated the directions in which it is most appropriate and feasible to address local needs. This was done by i) looking at pathways to tackle climate change in rural areas and ii) enabling environmental sustainability.

The results of the discussions are documented in the MAP Position Papers, which will feed into a SHERPA Position Paper on the topic The papers will be made available on the website.

Members of the EU MAP reflected on these results and provided suggestions and comments on how to formulate these into recommendations for policy and research.

The SHERPA Position Paper on ‘Climate change and environmental sustainability’ will be available in the first quarter of 2022.
