Swedish MAP finalising work on digitalisation

SHERPA MAPs
16/09/2022

On 13 September 2022, the SHERPA Multi-Actor Platforms Norrbotten, in Sweden, held an online meeting to discuss and confirm the results of the MAP position paper on digitalisation for attractive rural areas. This was the fourth meeting of the platform coordinated by Nordregio during 2022 to co-create knowledge on the topic of digitalisation.

The latter years booming green and industrial investments in Norrbotten indicate a large potential for a twin green & digital transition. Besides discussing the final results of the report, the Swedish MAP members also decided to translate the report into Swedish, to fill in a survey about SHERPA, and to discuss interest in meeting other MAPs during 2023.

In the meeting, a total of six MAP members participated. One of the civil society actors said that one of the reasons not all 17 members showed up was that the meeting was held during the moose hunt season, which is a large event for many in the region of Norrbotten, both permanent inhabitants and tourists.
