Mountains cover 36% of the European area and play an essential role in the provision of public and private goods. However, there is a lack of updated and comparable knowledge about many aspects of these regions affecting their management.
MOVING (MOuntain Valorization through INterconnectedness and Green growth) is a recently started Horizon 2020 project (2020-2024), which aims to create the necessary capacities at the local and institutional level to co-design the policy framework that allows the development of value chains that guarantee the sustainability and resilience of mountain areas. It will be done in a bottom-up participatory process with value chain actors, regional and European stakeholders and policy-makers.
Between 14-16 September 2020, the project celebrated the Kick-off meeting online, to define the first actions that will make MOVING a reality.
