On 7 and 8 March 2022, a European LEADER seminar was held in Ploeuc-L’Hermitage (Brittany, France) in line with the French presidency of the EU Council. The event highlighted the contributions of the LEADER programme to rural territories.
Representatives of LEADER in France, European institutions and national authorities ( in different round tables and workshops to discuss the implementation of the LEADER programme on the ground.
On the first day, following the General Assembly of the European network ELARD (European Leader Association for Rural Development), participants discussed the opportunities brought by EU funds to rural areas. The discussions focused on the existing mechanisms supporting territorial strategies linking national measures with European funds.
The second day started with a focus on the priorities of the French Presidency of the EU Council with regards to rural development, looking at opportunities for French rural areas and Europe overall.
On the occasion of the International Women’s Rights Day, Women on Wednesday Halmstad received the “LEADER European Award for Gender Equality”. The event ended with a visit of local projects to discover the LEADER programme of the Country of Saint-Brieuc.
