About the MAP
In the Netherlands, Regio Deal in the South East of Drenthe and the Wageningen University (WUR) coordinate the Multi-Actor Platform Vital Villages. This newly established platform operates at the regional level. Municipalities, together with residents, entrepreneurs, schools, healthcare providers, housing corporations and researchers, are involved in the MAP’s tasks.
Social dimension of rural areas has been identified as the theme. The aim is to build a strong future, to keep the villages of this region vital and be a place where young and old can live pleasantly.
