About the MAP
In Bulgaria, the European Rural Development Network (ERDN) – Institute for Agricultural Economics (IAU) coordinates the Multi-Actor Platform Rural Mapping Bulgaria. This platform operates at the national level. The core members are identified through a National Rural Network.
In this new cycle, the activities of the MAP will focus on discussing the contribution of bioeconomy value chain for rural development, comprising the public policy in bioeconomy and the potential for adoption of bioeconomy to rural economic value chains. The purpose of this discussion will be to make recommendations to policymakers on these issues in order to enable the realization of the vision for rural areas in the region in 2040.
Objectives
The activities of this MAP are designed to achieve the following specific objectives:
- MAP objective 1: Recognition of the strengths and weaknesses of the bioeconomy feasibility to foster rural development, public policy in development of this economic cycle in rural areas and bioeconomy integration to the value chains in the region.
- MAP objective 2: To find out and highlight the feasible ways to foster bioeconomy cycles and projects to place and set up in rural areas, the needs of public policy to mediate and prompt the introduction of bioeconomy to rural areas in Bulgaria.
- MAP objective 3: Target the preparation and necessary actions that might be undertaken by public policies to create better and incentive conditions to foster a more innovative and integrated to value chain bioeconomy for rural areas.
